EMCC BAND ADDS WINTER PERCUSSION

Members of East Mississippi Community College’s new Winter Percussion group perform during their first competition Feb. 8 at Neshoba Central High School. The group is gearing up for another competition Feb. 22 in Pearl and the Mississippi Indoor Association state competition March 27 in Jackson.

For what is believed to be the first time in the history of the program, EMCC's band is sporting a Winter Percussion made up of more than two dozen students from the Scooba campus.

Last fall, welding Technology students on East Mississippi Community College's Golden Triangle campus helped restore a reproduction cannon carriage likely built in 1901 that is on display at Mississippi State University's Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library. More
