East Mississippi Community College will offer a summer tuition break for the fourth year in a row, with additional cost savings for students who reside in student housing on the college’s Scooba campus.

In-state students enrolled in for-credit academic courses at EMCC will pay half the normal tuition cost for the 2026 Maymester, Full Summer, Summer Intensive I and Summer Intensive II terms.

In addition, residential students on the college’s Scooba campus who take classes during the months of June and July will get half-off dormitory costs for those two months. They must take classes both months. There is no discount for meals. The half-off dormitory costs are in addition to the half-off summer tuition for academic classes.

Since 2023, EMCC has offered the half-off tuition break during the months of May, June and July. The tuition discount does not apply to course fees and textbook purchases.

“The summer tuition discounts are a way in which we can provide students an opportunity to pick up additional classes at reduced rates,” EMCC President Dr. Scott Alsobrooks said. “This is yet another way in which we can ensure that our students are getting a great education at an exceptional value. This would not be possible without the support of our Mississippi legislators, district boards of supervisors and EMCC Board of Trustees.”

The enrollment process for summer terms will remain unchanged, but in-state students taking academic classes will only be charged half the price of tuition during the Maymester, Full Summer and Intensive I and II terms.

Maymester on-campus classes and online classes begin May 11. Online Full-Term and online June Term classes begin June 1, as do Full Summer and Intensive I in-person classes. Summer Intensive II and July online classes begin June 29.
