‘OUTSTANDING STUDENTS’ ON EMCC’S GOLDEN TRIANGLE CAMPUS RECOGNIZED

East Mississippi Community College instructors in academic, career technical, Workforce and Community Services, and Nursing and Health Sciences programs of study on our Golden Triangle campus, The Communiversity and the Lion Hills Center recognized their outstanding students from the past year during the annual Awards Day program that took place April 23 in the Lyceum Auditorium on the Golden Triangle campus.

East Mississippi Community College instructors in academic, career technical, Workforce and Community Services, and Nursing and Health Sciences programs of study on our Golden Triangle campus, The Communiversity and the Lion Hills Center recognized their outstanding students from the past year during the annual Awards Day program that took place April 23 in the Lyceum Auditorium on the Golden Triangle campus. Awards Day for students on the Scooba campus will take place April 24.

EMCC Vice President of Career Technical and Workforce Education Dr. Michael Busby welcomed the students, faculty and visitors. EMCC Chief Financial Officer Tammie Holmes provided the invocation.

For the awards instructors chose the top students in their respective classes and presented the students with plaques during the program. Some students earned multiple awards and some instructors who taught more than one class presented more than one award.

Members of the Student Government Association on EMCC’s Golden Triangle campus were also recognized during Awards Day. They are Madison McCarter, president; Austin Jamison, vice president; Anna Borst, secretary; Madelynne Goodrich, treasurer; Ethan Barrow, representative; and Morgan Trice, representative.

Madelynne Goodson and Parker Bazzill, who were selected as the Golden Triangle campus members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s All Mississippi Academic Team, were also recognized during Awards Day. Goodson was also named a 2024 Coca-Cola Academic Team Scholar. Phi Theta Kappa regional vice president Madison McCarter was also recognized.

Student Ambassadors on the Golden Triangle campus were also recognized. They are Anna Borst, Ashley Perrigin, Austin Jamison, Breelyn Smith, Cory Freely, Harrison Nanney, Holland Hickman, Jacob Oldenburg, Kaitlyn Bock, Kensley Smith, Landon Bock, Lorali Lacey, Madelynn Goodson, Madison McCarter, Mary Lee Williams, Mary Makenna Wooten, Mayson Smith, Presley Heidorn, Reese Jackson, Sarah Cantrell and Will Chapman.

EMCC Golden Triangle campus Dean of Students LeAnn Alexander also presented a certificate of recognition to Psychology instructor Jill McTaggart for her support of student activities.
