Phi Theta Kappa chapters, advisors and student members on East Mississippi Community College's Golden Triangle and Scooba campuses were recognized during Phi Theta Kappa's Mississippi/Louisiana Spring Regional Awards at Mississippi State University.

East Mississippi Community College's food service provider, Sodexo, randomly selected 10 students from 600 colleges and universities nationwide to each receive a $575 Visa gift card and a $1,250 donation on the student's behalf to food-related charity of his or her choice. EMCC freshman Matthew Wolvers, a Meridian resident who attends school on EMCC's Scooba campus, was among the 10 winners selected out of 7,184 entries.

East Mississippi Community College conducted spring 2026 graduation ceremonies at the college's Scooba and Golden Triangle campuses May 7-8.

EMCC graduates who earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in specified career-technical fields will be able to transfer approved credits toward a Bachelor of Applied Science at The W, thanks to a memorandum of agreement signed by W President Nora Miller and EMCC President Scott Alsobrooks.

Qualified students enrolled in East Mississippi Community College's Adult Education Launch Pad who want to enroll in select short-term training programs at the college will receive financial assistance thanks to a grant by 2nd Chance MS that was presented March 31 at the conclusion of a National Adult Education Honor Society induction ceremony on the college's Golden Triangle campus.
