EMCC, MSU HOST RIBBON CUTTING AT THE COMMUNIVERSITY TO HIGHLIGHT PARTNERSHIP

An open house and ribbon cutting ceremony took place Jan. 29 at The Communiversity to highlight a partnership between East Mississippi Community College and Mississippi State University to provide new workforce services to industries and additional training opportunities to area residents.

Jonathan Russell, an All American dual-sport athlete who played football and baseball for East Mississippi Community College, launched a Florida-based construction company five years ago that was on track to top $30 million in revenues by the end of 2024. More


Mathiston resident Dennisia Batts, at left, and her daughter, Kylie Brown, both graduated from East Mississippi Community College last December. Batts completed the Associate Degree Nursing program on the college’s Golden Triangle campus. Brown earned an associate degree in general studies and enrolled this semester in the Practical Nursing program on EMCC’s Scooba campus.
