Student Achievement Metrics

Retention rates represent the percentage of a school’s full-time, first-time undergraduate students who are enrolled in the Fall and continue at that college the next Fall term. Retention rates are directly related to the Strategic Plan 2020 Priority #1: Academic Excellence. Students who are retained are more likely to complete the required coursework to earn a credential or degree.

Graduation rates of the FTFT cohort are analyzed to understand the percentage of incoming students who graduate at the institution within three years’ time (150%). The rate is calculated as the total number of program completers within 150% of normal time divided by the number of students in the FTFT cohort.

Course success rates include student retention and final grade. For the purpose of this measure, the College is defining success as a letter grade of A, B, or C

Student achievement and success metrics are disaggregated by economics and race to determine gaps in equity. For the purposes of this measure, minority students include Black or African American and Hispanic. PELL recipient status is used to identify low-income students.
