Career-Technical programs

In addition to non-credit Workforce classes, EMCC's Division of Manufacturing Technology & Engineering oversees a number of Career-Technical programs leading to Associate of Applied Science degrees or vocational certificates recognized by business and industry. Visit these links for details.​

 

Automation & Control  

Two-year associate's degree

Provides students with the technical knowledge and skills necessary to gain employment as automated manufacturing systems technicians in maintenance, diagnostics, engineering or production in an automated manufacturing environment. 

 

Automotive Technology 

Two-year associate's degree or one-year vocational certificate
Provides students with the basic skills and technical knowledge to properly diagnose and repair late-model vehicles, and teaches problem-solving techniques and computer diagnosis.

 

Drafting & Design Technology

Two-year associate's degree
Provides a sound foundation in the basics of drafting practice, including architectural drafting, machine drafting, surveying, civil drafting and computer-aided drafting.

 

Electrical Technology

Two-year associate's degree or one-year vocational certificate
Provides students with training in all aspects of the electrical field. Graduates possess the knowledge and skills necessary to plan, install, maintain and trouble-shoot various electrical systems.

 

Electronics Technology

Two-year associate's degree or one-year vocational certificate

Prepares students to support electrical engineers and other professionals in the design, development and testing of electrical circuits, devices and systems.

 
Industrial Maintenance
Two-year associate's degree or one-year vocational certificate
Prepares students for entry-level employment as multi-skilled maintenance technicians. Industrial maintenance technicians are responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining/repairing machinery used in the manufacturing or industrial environment.
 
 

Precision Machining & Manufacturing

One- or two-year vocational certificate

Provides hands-on instruction in the operation of machine shop equipment and classroom theory covering safety, blueprint reading, lathe/milling machine operation and shop math. The second year includes CNC equipment, metallurgy and production methods.

 

Welding & Fabrication Technology

Two-year associate's degree or one-year vocational certificate

Prepares students to enter the job market in many different areas. Welding is utilized in manufacturing, structural construction, custom job shops and as an integral part of many businesses.
