Electrical Training

Residential Electrical Wiring
Training includes instruction and hands-on training in the field of residential electricity.  Individuals entering electrical training will provide their own personal safety equipment: Safety Glasses.  Some topics covered include electrical installations, arc flash, fixtures and outlets, box mounting, small appliance circuits, receptacles, ranges and ovens and service entrance equipment. Residential electrical is 48 hours of training.

HVAC Electrical
Prerequisites: Residential electrical, HVAC or Current HVAC Student.  Training includes instruction and hands-on training in the field of HVAC.  Individuals entering electrical training will provide their own personal safety equipment: Safety Glasses.  Some topics covered include electrical installations, measuring instruments, wiring diagrams, installation diagrams, direct current and alternating current, motor basics, relays, switches, thermostats, electric heat controls and heat pumps.  HVAC electrical training is 36 hours of training.  

Industrial Motor Controls
Prerequisites: Residential electrical or other electrical training. Individuals entering Industrial Motor Controls electrical training includes instruction and hands-on training.  Training will cover topics such as three-phase power basics, control circuits, photo switches and transformer basics.  Industrial Motor Controls is 36 hours of training.

Commercial Electric
Prerequisites: Residential electrical or other electrical training. Individuals entering Commercial electrical training are introduced to electrical theory, ohms law, national and local electrical codes. Individuals also learn power and control transformer basics, commercial lighting circuits. Individuals will also learn conduit sizing and bending. Different types of conductors and there sizing is covered as well as load calculations, branch circuit conductors, and installation procedures.  Individuals completing this course should exit with a firm understanding of basic electrical principals as well as commercial wiring controls, circuits, and instillation practices.  Commercial electrical is 36 hours of training.   Individuals entering electrical training will provide their own personal safety equipment: Safety Glasses

2011 National Electrical Code
Prerequisites: Residential electrical or other electrical training.  Individuals entering NEC electrical training are learning the application of the electrical code as it relates to their area of electrical work, preparing for the electrical license test or updating knowledge due to code changes.  2011 NEC is 72 hours of training.   Individuals entering electrical training will provide their own personal safety equipment: Safety Glasses.
