NCCER Construction Skills

NCCER Core Curriculum
Students will receive instruction in the following Core Modules: Safety Rules; Basic Measurement and Computed Measurement; Construction Drawings; Introduction to Materials Handling; Basic Employability Skills; and Basic Communication Skills; Shop Skills include: Using Hand Tools and Using Power Tools.

NCCER Carpentry Level 1
Students will receive instruction in the following nine important training modules: Orientation to the Trade; Building Materials, Fasteners, and Adhesives; Hand and Power Tools; Introduction to Construction Drawings, Specifications, and Layout;  Floor Systems; Wall Systems; Ceiling, Joist and Roof Framing; Introduction to Building Envelope Systems; Basic Stair Layout. 

Students must complete the WorkKeys® assessment at a minimum of a Bronze level to participate in this course.  Upon successful completion of this non-credit class, individuals will receive a Certificate of Completion from EMCC and will be eligible to take the NCCER Certification Test. If the student successfully completes the NCCER Certification Test the student will receive a nationally recognized NCCER Certificate.
