  • Governor, Lt. Gov., EMCC president tout community colleges

    More than 30 EMCC students, faculty and staff joined delegations from community colleges all over the state Feb. 3 for Capitol Day. The annual event is a chance for community college representatives to speak to legislators and the media about their funding needs.

  • Good GED news: "Pass" score lowered ... retroactively

    Earning a GED just got easier. The company that administers GED testing for many states has lowered the score it takes to pass each subject area from 150 to 145. Officials with GED Testing Service announced the changes Jan. 26, explaining that data shows students who took the GED test were being held to a higher academic standard than their counterparts in high school.

  • GED testing now available at EMCC's Scooba campus

    Some area residents who wish to take the GED test won’t have to drive as far to do so. EMCC now offers GED testing at its Scooba campus, a service previously available only at the Golden Triangle campus in Mayhew.
