  • EMCC honors graduate took "TIME" to find his way

Dalvin Tate had a good idea what he wanted to do with his life, all he needed was a little TIME. While a student at Starkville High School, Tate was chosen for the TIME (Technology Initiative in Manufacturing and Engineering) program at EMCC. He graduated from EMCC this year as a member of the first Honors class at the Golden Triangle campus ... and is now studying computer engineering at Mississippi State University.

  • Registration open for "mini-terms" that start in October

Registration is going on now for the Second Fall "Mini-term" at EMCC. What is a mini-term? It’s a way of taking traditional or online college classes over a much shorter period of time. Mini-term classes start Oct. 13 at four EMCC locations. The online mini-term starts Oct. 20.

When the Omnova plant closed several years ago and workers were given money to go back to school, Honnoll enrolled in East Mississippi Community College’s Electrical Technology program ... and came out on the other end with a job at Severstal.

  • French student at Scooba campus charmed by Mississippi

Things move slow in the South, but Mississippi life is still a little overwhelming for one East Mississippi Community College student. Pauline Pimolle, a freshman in Scooba, hails from Marseille in the south of France. She’s visited “The States” a couple of times, but has only lived here a few weeks ... and she’s still trying to take it all in.
