East Mississippi Community College is a comprehensive community college serving Lowndes, Clay, Oktibbeha, Noxubee, Kemper and Lauderdale counties in beautiful East Central Mississippi. Founded in 1927, the college currently serves more than 5,500 students from nearly every county in Mississippi.
EMCC's residential campus is in Scooba, about 40 miles north of Meridian. The largest EMCC campus is the Golden Triangle commuter campus, located in Mayhew -- at the center of a triangle formed by Starkville, West Point and Columbus. Branch extensions are located in West Point, Columbus Air Force Base and Naval Air Station-Meridian, and the college also offers evening classes in Macon, at Noxubee County High School. EMCC also offers online classes through the Mississippi Virtual Community College Consortium.
The college's instructional offerings include career/technical programs and full academic transfer curriculum. Non-credit, short-term training is available through the Workforce Services division in the Center for Manufacturing Technology Excellence, Golden Triangle campus.
East Mississippi Community College strives to provide an exceptional collegiate experience in an atmosphere that is conducive to learning and success in higher education. Small class sizes, affordability and a faculty and staff who care are what you will find at Mississippi’s premier community college.
We encourage you to visit one of our beautiful campuses or extensions. A typical campus visit will include a guided tour of the campus by an EMCC Student Ambassador, a meeting with the campus recruiting coordinator to learn more about what EMCC can offer you and to answer any questions you may have, as a student or parent.
Please allow at least a week’s notice to schedule your visit so that we can tailor your visit to suit your needs. Large group tours are also welcome on the campuses, with advance notice.
