Registration: It goes faster if you plan ahead
There's no getting around it. Final registration at East Mississippi Community College is one of the busiest times of the year. Thousands of people need to meet with academic counselors and financial aid advisors. There are documents to gather and forms to fill out, some on paper, some online. You have to buy books, get a parking decal, have a student ID card made. You have to stand in a lot of lines.
While you can't skip any steps, you can make the process easier on yourself. And a lot less time-consuming. Our first piece of advice is don't wait until the last minute because that's when our campuses are flooded with students registering for the upcoming semester. Do it the week before, or the week before that ... the earlier, the better.
Our second piece of advice is do everything you can before you leave home. The process goes a lot faster if you arrive on campus to register with all the needed documents in hand, and all the necessary forms completed.
Look at the list on the left of this screen. It shows different kinds of people who attend classes at EMCC. Which option best describes your educational needs? Click your choice for a step-by-step guide to the registration process. The checklists in this section step you through: 1) what steps to complete before you ever pull out of the driveway; and 2) what to do once you arrive on campus to complete registration.
