Getting started: Registration guide

Academic/Career-Technical students: 2. Once you arrive on campus

Help (new window)

Registration: You've arrived on campus ... now what?

  • Registration at EMCC will go much more smoothly if you're prepared for it. If you haven't already visited our "What to do before you leave home" link, now would be a good time.
  • Do the steps in the order they appear, because each step depends on the one before it, and it's no fun standing in the same line twice.
  • If you've waited until the last two days of registration, which we don't recommend, there will be signs posted and people there to answer questions. Just find someone wearing an EMCC badge and ask them where to go.

They'll review your materials, and make sure you've done everything on the "What to do before you leave home" checklist. If you haven't, some steps can be completed along the way ... it will slow you down, and might irritate the people in line behind you, but it can be done. But if you're missing these, you can't proceed at all:

  • New students: ACT score and high school transcript
  • Transfer students: Transcripts from the last school you attended.

Early birds:
Admissions Office, in the Administration Building (by the clock tower)

During the final two days of registration:
Lyceum auditorium

Stennis Hall

Schedule your classes

  • New students: Discuss what classes you need to take with a counselor. See notes to right.
  • Returning students: Go see your assigned academic advisor.
  • Athletes: Meet with academic advisor Brittany Wagner on the Scooba campus.

At the end of your visit, they'll give you a copy of your schedule.

Early birds:
Counseling Center, Douglas Building

During the final two days of registration:
Lyceum auditorium

Hawkins Vocational Building

Financial aid

Meet with a financial aid advisor about the kinds and amounts of assistance you can receive. If you haven't completed the Financial Aid steps on the "What to do before you leave home" list, you'll have to do them now.

Early birds:
Financial Aid Office, Administration Building

During the final two days of registration:
Lyceum auditorium

Wallace Hall

Paying the bill

A business office employee will review your charges and financial aid print-out.
If needed, you'll make payment arrangements.

At the end of your visit, your schedule will be stamped "Valid for ID." You will also get a parking decal.

Early birds:

During the final two days of registration:

Get a student ID

Hand over your stamped schedule, smile for the camera and they'll give you a student ID, which you need to wear whenever you're on campus.
