Why Health Care Assistant? Here's what our students say ...
It's one thing for us to tell you why attending East Mississippi Community College is a good idea.
It's another for our students to tell you why they chose EMCC and how it worked out. So, here are some links to stories from Lion Country, told by the students who lived them.
|Why EMCC? I want a career in health care...
Shalita Miller of Macon is a spring 2011 graduate of the Health Care Assistant program. "I really enjoy the hands-on experience that we get in the clinicals in DeKalb and Macon," Shalita said. "After graduation in May, I plan to take a job as a certified nurse assistant and work while I continue my education."
Heard it one too many times ... "You didn't go to college"
Beverly Hardin of Macon graduated with highest honors from EMCC in spring 2012, earning a vocational certificate in the Health Care Assistant program. "I watched gifted family members drop out of school, and I tried to talk them into staying in school and going to college. I got this answer every time, 'You didn’t go to college.' So, that was my motivation."
