East Mississippi Community College offers 29 Career-Technical programs. Our students come from many walks of life. Young adults eager to earn an Associate's Degree or Vocational Certificate and enter the work force. University-bound students looking for an economical way to pay for their first two years of college. Older, non-traditional students who may have lost a job or who just want to make a career change.
EMCC's Career-Technical programs take a layered approach, with one option building on another.
Two years of classes are required for some Career-Technical programs. Students who successfully complete these programs earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree.
Some are Vocational Certificate programs, requiring less time while still providing students
with a skill set in demand by local employers.
Some programs provide both Associate Degree and Vocational Certificate options.
In addition, short-term non-credit training is available in some of these areas through
EMCC's Workforce Services Division.
