Founded in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa is the official community college honor society with 90 years of dedication to recognizing academic excellence.
Phi Theta Kappa recognizes and rewards high-achieving students and provides scholarships for continued studies as well as opportunities to develop such critical leadership skills as problem solving, project planning, team building, effective communication and conflict resolution.
Membership is based on superior academic achievement and is conferred only by invitation of a local chapter. Phi Theta Kappa membership may also qualify students for scholarships at the senior college to which they are transferring. Contact a counselor at your transfer college to enquire about scholarships.
East Mississippi Community College has two Phi Theta Kappa chapters, one based at the Golden Triangle campus and one at the Scooba campus. Eligibility requirements may vary.
