  • West Lauderdale students tour EMCC's Scooba campus

West Lauderdale High School senior William Brantley had never visited EMCC's Scooba campus. That changed Feb. 5 when Brantley and two busloads of seniors from West Lauderdale disembarked at EMCC to take part in First Fridays, a new initiative that gives prospective students a chance to learn more about the college. The next First Fridays event at the Scooba and Golden Triangle campuses is March 4.

  • Leia Hill named assistant vice president at East Miss. CC

Leia Hill has been named assistant vice president for Institutional Advancement at EMCC. In addition to directing college-wide recruiting efforts, Hill will be responsible for overseeing the college’s media, public information and marketing teams. EMCC employee Megan Reynolds has been selected to fill Hill’s former position as recruiter.

  • EMCC team rallies after EF2 tornado at Scooba campus

It was a bad day. A tornado touched down at EMCC, doing serious damage to student housing and athletic facilities. But it was a good day, too. Campus officials in Scooba put an emergency plan into action with speed and efficiency. All students were in their safe places when the metal-twisting, tree-snapping winds arrived.
