NEW HOPE VISITORS Automotive Technology instructor Dale Henry meets with a group of students from New Hope High School on Sept. 30, when about 75 New Hope sophomores, juniors and seniors toured EMCC’s Golden Triangle campus. The tour began with an overview for all the students, who were then split into three smaller groups for a closer look at academic departments as well as career-technical programs – Automotive, Nursing, Welding, Drafting and Design, Cosmetology and Electronics. n Click here for more information and photos. |

REFLECTION SINGERS Several members of East Mississippi Community College’s Reflection Singers took part Sept. 29-30 in the Fourth Annual Southern Invitational Choral Conference at the University of Southern Mississippi. The Relection Singers, chosen from the EMCC Choir, sing at community and campus functions. Pictured are, standing from left, Carlton Fisher of Starkville, Shawntell Triplett of Philadelphia, Lonnie Benamon of Preston, Trave Williams of Maben, Carla Caldwell of Columbus and Samuel Jackson of Starkville. The students learned musical pieces under guest clinician Bretto Peppo, director of choral/vocal music at Diablo Valley College in California.  East Mississippi Community College honored its Alumnus of the Year and Distinguished Service Award winner Oct. 4 during halftime of the Lions’ match-up with Coahoma Community College. Charlie Studdard, far left, president of the EMCC Alumni Association, presented the awards on the 50-yard line.
