Student Financial Aid

The purpose of the East Mississippi Community College Financial Aid Program is to provide financial assistance to students who need funds to attend the College. The Office of Student Financial Aid is available to help traditional and distance learning students find those needed resources. Possible sources of assistance include federal and state grants, federal loans and institutional scholarships.

It is important to apply for financial aid as early as possible to allow for complete processing of your financial aid applications. All financial aid application forms must be completed annually.

To apply for Federal Aid you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This will determine your eligibility for the Federal Pell Grant and Federal Stafford Loan Programs. You can apply online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov or contact our office for application materials. EMCC's Federal identification code to be used on the FAFSA is 002405.

To apply for State Aid and to review available programs and eligibility criteria contact the Institutions of Higher Learning at (800) 327-2980 or go online at http://www.ihl.state.ms.us/financialaid/default.asp.

To apply for EMCC Scholarships contact our office or download the scholarship application at http://www.eastms.edu/pdf/index.html. To be eligible for EMCC scholarships you must be a Mississippi resident enrolling as a full-time freshman for the first-time in the fall semester.
