To ensure success with your online classes and your entire college career, you may need sound advice.? EMCC provides a variety of support services; the most important are listed below?

Career Counseling:
Career fields, requirements, and curriculum information are available from the counselors, deans, and faculty advisors.? Admissions will direct you to the area specialist; you may contact that person directly from the EMCC website faculty email directory.

Financial Aid Counseling:
Students in online classes are eligible for financial aid, including PELL grants and student loans.? In addition, those students receiving Financial Aid are held to the same standards as students in traditional classes.? This should be discussed with the advisor before registering for online classes.? Withdrawing from classes may negatively impact financial aid eligibility. To continue receiving financial aid, students must make satisfactory academic progress in the declared program of study. Satisfactory progress includes maintaining a minimum grade point average and completing at least two-thirds of the courses attempted in the semester.? Distance Learning:
Academic and Career and Technical Counselors assist students in dealing with difficulties
that inhibit their ability to learn. These services are free of charge to all EMCC students.
Counselors available at EMCC: - Scooba Campus are Debbie Baker, Academic Counselor (662-476-5000) and Ed Nave, Career and Technical Counselor (662-476-5088) and the Golden Triangle Campus counselors are: Holly Ohs, Academic Counselor (662-243-2657) and Chris Erby, Career and Technical Counselor (662-243-1926) and Jakie Hale, Job placement Counselor (662-243-1925).

Academic Counseling and Advising:
The EMCC District Dean of Academics coordinates academic counseling.? As part of the registration process, faculty advisors assist all students; advisors are assigned by subject matter.? Together the student and advisor track and plan progress through college classes.? Students may change advisors for personal or academic reasons after consultation with the Dean of Distance Learning.? Students changing majors should advise the Dean and the Admissions Office.
