Spring semester starts Jan. 8 ... register now!

Release date: Nov. 6, 2013

Open registration for the spring 2014 semester is under way at East Mississippi Community College.

The college offers on-campus classes throughout its six-county district at the Golden Triangle and Scooba campuses, Columbus Air Force Base, the West Point-Clay County Center, Lion Hills Center, Macon and Naval Air Station Meridian. EMCC also offers a full range of online/eLearning classes.

"Spring is a great time to begin classes at EMCC, and there are many reasons students choose the spring. Maybe you've had a rocky start at a university and want to pick up a class or re-focus. Maybe your work schedule has allowed you to re-start your college education," said District Recruiting Coordinator Michael Black.

"Whatever your situation, we have a schedule that works for you. And, as always, financial aid and scholarships are available to those who qualify."

Here’s a look at the options:

On-campus classes: Traditional, on-campus classes begin at all EMCC locations on Wednesday, Jan. 8. The final registration period is Jan. 6-7. The full-term semester ends in early May. Visit this searchable Class Schedules link to check on what’s available, or click the links below for PDF listings by location.

(* Includes the Lion Hills and West Point-Clay County centers.)

Mini-semester: At many EMCC locations, mini-semesters are also available. These are also called intensive semesters because they compress classes into a much shorter period of time. Classes for mini-semesters start the same day, Jan. 8, but end in early March. For more info, call an EMCC Counseling Center.

Online classes: Online/eLearning classes begin Monday, Jan. 13. The registration deadline is Friday, Jan. 10. Visit our searchable Mississippi Virtual Community College Class Schedules link to check on what’s available. Or click the link below for a PDF listing of spring classes.

If you have questions,
or don’t know where to begin,
Think about it ...

1) You don’t have to start your college career in the fall; and 2) It pays to register early before classes close out and the lines of people waiting to register get long.

  • On-campus classes start Wednesday, Jan. 8. Final registration is Jan. 6-7.
    Students can register late
    until Tuesday, Jan. 14.

  • Online classes start Monday, Jan. 13. The registration deadline is Friday, Jan. 10.
