The Division of Nursing and Allied Health at EMCC teamed up with the Mississippi chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association to host the 2013 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Oct. 13 at EMCC’s Golden Triangle campus.

Students in EMCC’s Registered Nurse and Practical Nursing programs hosted a "Pink Out" pot luck at the Golden Triangle campus in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It was all-pink clothes and all-pink food to remind people about self-checks and mammagrams.

The Practical Nursing program at EMCC is thoroughly difficult, but Chase Kyle of Columbus graduated with one hand tied behind his back. Well actually, one hand at his side. Kyle, who lost the use of his left arm in a dirt bike accident 12 years ago, was one of 30 Practical Nursing students who graduated in a pinning ceremony at EMCC’s Golden Triangle campus.

EMCC held its first-ever fall graduation ceremony Dec. 14 at the Golden Triangle campus. The ceremony honored summer and fall 2012 graduates from EMCC’s Golden Triangle and Columbus Air Force Base campuses. Overall, nearly 300 students earned associate’s degrees and vocational certificates in academic and career-technical areas. Teirra Wynn always knew she wanted to be a nurse. Graduating from nursing school should have been the most significant thing to happen to her since graduating from West Point High School. It wasn't. In fact it’s third on the list. A distant third. Wynn and 22 classmates graduated from EMCC's Practical Nursing program on July 12.
