EMCC Concert Choir performs in community college festival

East Mississippi Community College students performed Feb. 20-21 during the Mississippi Community College Choral Festival at the MSU Riley Center in Meridian. On the first day of the festival, the EMCC Concert Choir sang two selections, “Gloria” and “I Want Jesus to Walk with Me.” On the second day, the EMCC choir sang with community college students from other parts of the state in a mass choir under

the direction of Dr. Kristina Caswell-MacMullen, assistant ​professor of conducting and assistant director of Choral Activities at Ohio State University. At OSU, Caswell-MacMullen conducts the Symphonic Choir and the Women’s Glee Club, and she instructs undergraduate and graduate students in conducting and choral pedagogy. The mass choir performed three musical selections, “Zion’s Walls,” “In the Night We Shall Go In” and “Dry Bonz.”​
