For the second time in three years, EMCC's trail-blazing football program is playing for a national championship.
The EMCC Lions, fresh off their third state championship in the last five years, will meet Georgia Military College Sunday, Dec. 8, in the Mississippi Bowl in Biloxi – where the country’s only remaining undefeated teams will compete for the 2013 NJCAA title. In 2011, EMCC captured the school’s first-ever national crown by defeating Arizona Western in the El Toro Bowl, completing a perfect 12-0 season. GMC won the national championship in 2001.
This contest marks the first time the Mississippi Bowl has hosted the NJCAA national football championship. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m., at Biloxi High School’s Indians Stadium.
Tickets can be purchased in advance: $10 general admission, $7 for students. Visit the Mississippi Bowl link at right.
