 ONE GOOD DEED ...
Golden Triangle science instructor Holly Beneke and her students believe in helping others. In the fall, her anatomy and physiology classes collected items such as toothbrushes and soap for Contact Hotline, which helps people who live alone. They also collected canned goods for four Columbus families whose homes burned. This spring, her biology classes have been just as busy. Partnering with the Lions Club of Columbus East, her students are collecting old eyeglasses for the club’s Recycle for Sight campaign. They also helped the Lions with fund-raisers by distributing phone books and serving food at a Pancake Breakfast at Applebee’s. In return, the Lions Club provided free vision screenings in April at the Golden Triangle campus for more than 100 students, faculty and staff.
