  • MSU professor emeritus goes back to school at EMCC

    Retired Mississippi State University professor George Adebiyi co-wrote a book on thermodynamics, conducted research for NASA’s John C. Stennis Space Center and served as an associate technical editor for the “Journal of Solar Energy Engineering.” Now he's taking a workforce course at EMCC to learn to nuts and bolts of HVAC because he wants to bring inexpensive solar-powered air-conditioning to his native Nigeria.

  • Netflix, EMCC announce season two of "Last Chance U"

    East Mississippi Community College, in conjunction with the world’s leading internet television provider, Netflix, announced Aug. 15 that the ground-breaking documentary series “Last Chance U” will be renewed for a second season.

  • Netflix "Last Chance U" series getting international attention

    A Netflix sports documentary that shines an unflinching spotlight on EMCC’s football program has been garnering international attention and positive reviews that began even before its Friday release. The six-part series titled “Last Chance U” was released worldwide at 12:01 a.m. Friday to Netflix members. By noon Friday, the official Netflix trailer of the documentary on YouTube had 444,710 views.

  • Scooba campus to host Family Fun Day on July 30

    East Mississippi Community College's Scooba campus will host a Family Fun Day from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30, for students in Kemper County in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. Family Fun Day will include educational sessions on nutrition, proper food portion sizes, calorie counting and reading food labels. Outdoor activities are planned as well. Possible events include sand volleyball, a walking tour of the campus, and a Frisbee toss.
