  • Early College High School ready to welcome new freshmen

    The number of students at Golden Triangle Early College High School on East Mississippi Community College's Golden Triangle campus will double in August. Sixty freshmen wrapped up their first year in May. In August, those students will move on to their sophomore year and 60 new freshmen who have already been accepted into the program will join their ranks.

  • Challenging ourselves: EMCC students make the Honor Roll

    East Mississippi Community College congratulates these spring 2016 Honor Roll students for their dedication and discipline. “Look for something that will challenge you,” said EMCC President Dr. Thomas Huebner. “I promise you, you were created for something.   • Scholarships available: EMCC Mighty Lion Band auditions

    Positions are still available for students interested in trying out for EMCC's Mighty Lion Band. Auditions will continue as long as scholarships are available, but they need to take place before summer band camps July 27-Aug. 1 and Aug. 7-11. Band Director Steve Stringer: “The time to try out is now. There are a limited number of scholarships.”

  • Scooba: New tuition-free workforce program to begin in July

    A new pilot program at EMCC's Scooba campus to provide tuition-free workforce training to Kemper County residents is set to begin in July. And an upper age limit has lifted, opening the classes to many more people. The announcement was made June 2 during a public meeting at the Scooba campus about the Step 2 Success program.
