  • EMCC's WGTC radio: Launching another live radio drama

    Since its first broadcast a year ago, EMCC's radio station on the Golden Triangle campus has grown its listenership through innovative content. On June 1, WGTC 92.7 FM will debut the first episode of a live radio drama called “Search for Happiness.” The storyline revolves around a fictional Bartlesville, Okla., oil tycoon by the name of J.D. Gray whose three grown daughters discover he has eloped with a woman not much older than they are.

  • Room to grow: New Student Union to open during the fall

    The opening later this fall of a two-story, 76,000-square-foot student union and multi-purpose building at EMCC's Golden Triangle campus will help alleviate growing pains at the college and provide additional classroom space. It is also expected to become a focal point for students looking to grab a bite to eat, visit with friends or prepare for their next class.

  • Community meeting: Workforce Sevices expands programs

    EMCC is partnering with Kemper County business and community leaders to implement a new program at the Scooba campus designed to provide residents age 17 to 24 with employment skills needed to land and keep a job. An informational meeting on the Step 2 Success program will take place June 2 at 6 p.m. in the Stennis Auditorium on the Scooba campus.

  • Partnership: EMCC and MUW sign new articulation agreement

    An articulation agreement signed May 25 by East Mississippi Community College and Mississippi University for Women will enable EMCC students who have earned Associate of Applied Science degrees in industry and manufacturing areas to transfer seamlessly to MUW. The formal ceremony was held at EMCC’s Center for Manufacturing Technology Excellence.
