  • CAFB instructor to be honored at Lamplighter Conference

    Math instructor Tina Seals of EMCC's Columbus Air Force Base Extension has been chosen to represent the college at the 2016 Lamplighter Conference sponsored by the Mississippi Community College Academic Officers Association. The conference honors instructors who demonstrate excellence in instruction and a commitment to learning and teaching.

  • EMCC and Blue Mountain College sign articulation agreement

    A new articulation agreement between East Mississippi Community College and Blue Mountain College will enable EMCC students who have earned Associate of Applied Science degrees in career-technical programs to transfer easily to Blue Mountain College. The agreement was signed Sept. 22 by EMCC President Dr. Thomas Huebner and BMC President Dr. Barbara C. McMillin during a ceremony at Lion Hills Center in Columbus.

  • Overcoming addiction: Darryl Strawberry to speak at EMCC

    Eight-time major league baseball All-Star Darryl Strawberry will conduct a free seminar Wednesday, Sept. 28, at EMCC's Scooba campus. The public is invited to attend this event, which will take place at 7 p.m. in Keyes Currie Coliseum. The topic of Strawberry’s faith-based seminar will be “Overcoming Addiction.”

  • Instructor Jan Mullen receives Humanities Teacher Award

    East Mississippi Community College instructor Jan Mullen is the college’s recipient of this year’s Humanities Teacher Award. Each year the Mississippi Humanities Council presents the award to humanities faculty at each of the state’s colleges and universities. The recipients will be recognized at an annual awards ceremony next spring.
