  • Honors Registration: Deadline to RSVP extended until March 6

    High school seniors with ACT scores of 21 or higher can avoid the crowds at registration. EMCC will conduct early Honors Registration sessions Friday, March 20, at its Golden Triangle and Scooba campuses for these students. At Honors Registration, qualified seniors can finalize admissions, scholarships and register for fall and/or summer classes.

  • EMCC's Dickerson, Wiggins honored at HEADWAE Luncheon

    An EMCC student and teacher were recognized among the best in higher education Feb. 17 in Jackson. Scooba student Jonathan Wiggins of DeKalb and Funeral Services instructor Octavia Dickerson of Columbus were named EMCC’s 2015 HEADWAE Award recipients.

  • Get involved: Become an EMCC Student Ambassador

    The deadline to submit an application to become an EMCC Student Ambassador for the 2015-16 school year is Friday, March 27. Student Ambassadors represent EMCC in the community and participate in recruiting events, both on and off campus. Successful applicants for these highly competitive positions receive scholarships in return for their service.

  • Scooba renames streets in honor of MLK, EMCC retiree

    Almost 200 people gathered at East Kemper Elementary School on a cold, rainy Monday morning as Mayor Allen Beaty and the Scooba Board of Aldermen held a ceremony to rename two streets. One re-dedication honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. But the gymnasium was full of friends, colleagues and relatives of the second honoree, EMCC retiree Edward Nave, former chairman of the Kemper County Democratic Party and the Mississippi Democratic Party.
