  • Officials break ground on $42 million Communiversity project

    Local, state and federal agencies gathered Dec. 9 to break ground on the Golden Triangle’s newest workforce development project, The Communiversity. "Winning in economic development means having training programs that can respond to the market’s needs quickly and produce highly qualified workers," Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves said. "The Communiversity is yet another example of how our state is committed to success in attracting high-tech jobs."

  • EMCC's Dec. 9 fall graduations to be aired live online

    East Mississippi Community College will hold fall graduation ceremonies on Friday, Dec. 9. At the Golden Triangle campus, the ceremony will be 2 p.m. at the Lyceum auditorium. In Scooba, graduation will be 6 p.m. at Keyes Currie Coliseum. Both can be seen live online on Ustream.

  • Blue Cross & Blue Shield Fndn. awards $211K grant to EMCC

    EMCC debuted its newly-renovated Wellness Center on Nov. 16 during a grand opening celebration. The improvements are part of the Our Pride, Making Strides Initiative at EMCC, which is a partnership between the college and the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation, which provided a $211,000 grant for the project.

  • Veterans' memorial erected at Sullivan-Windham Field

    A memorial tribute to military veterans stands sentinel at EMCC's Sullivan-Windham Field, thanks to a local business, EMCC employees and students in the college’s welding program. It features steel medallions representing the branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and the U.S. Coast Guard. Service members held as prisoners of war or missing in action are also honored.

EMCC outplayed Iowa Western, 34-17, Dec. 7 at the Mississippi Bowl to claim its third NJCAA national football championship in four years.
