Make EMCC part of your plans
Did you know you can leave gifts for EMCC which contribute to the school’s future for generations to come?
The college’s ongoing planned giving campaign can not only take care of your philanthropic wishes, but may also serve as an ally in estate planning.
“Planned giving is something a lot of people don’t like to talk about,” EMCC Vice President of Alumni Affairs Nick Clark said. “But not only is it important to EMCC, it’s important to the donating individual as well because it lessens the tax burden on their children and their family.”
Clark said a first priority in estate planning should be family: “It’s the most important concern; to take care of family and business interests. But then you’ll want to address ways you may be able to help your family and help others through philanthropy, your favorite charity, etc., and hopefully that will be EMCC.”
Many EMCC friends and alumni have already made the school a part of their estate plans.
“We’ve had a couple of people who did recently pass away who have taken advantage of planned giving with a cash donation and a tract of land being donated,” Clark said. “It can be a big asset for everyone involved.”
