  • Mississippi Bowl: EMCC Lions visit Dream Program

    Before they strap on their pads Sunday for the NJCAA Football Championship Game, the East Mississippi Community College football team wore their hearts on their sleeves. The top-ranked EMCC Lions visited the Ocean Springs Sports Complex Saturday to spend an afternoon with special-needs athletes from the Dream Program, a local non-profit that facilitates athletic activities for differently-abled members.

  • Mississippi Bowl: Halftime features "Home of the Lions"

    On Dec. 7, EMCC and country artist Derek Norsworthy will partner up to turn the Mississippi Bowl into the “Home of the Lions” at the NJCAA National Football Championship game. Top-ranked EMCC will travel from Biloxi Indian Stadium to face No. 2 Iowa Western Community College for the community college football championship. Kickoff is 2 p.m. But at halftime, Norsworthy will pay homage to Scooba with his original song “Home of the Lions” ... with help from EMCC’s Mighty Lion Band.

  • EMCC Lions win another NJCAA Football Championship

    For the third time in four years, the EMCC Lions have won the NJCAA National Football Championship. It happened at the Mississippi Bowl Dec. 7 at Biloxi Indian Stadium -- where a spirited home crowd watched the No. 1 Lions face off against the No. 2 Reivers of Iowa Western CC. Final score ... EMCC 34, IWCC 17. Big congratulations to our Lions and many thanks to our fans, students and volunteers. Roar!

    Dr. Rick Young announces the release of the 2014 East Mississippi Community College President’s Report: “The President’s Report gives us a chance to show others where we’ve been over the last year, and share some of our plans for the future.”
