  • EMCC assistant football coach takes on administrative post

    EMCC assistant football coach Marcus Wood has been tapped to fill an administrative position at the college. In his new role as assistant vice president for Athletic Development, Wood is spearheading fund-raising efforts. Long-range plans call for an athletic operations center at the Scooba campus and the addition of a women’s soccer field at the Golden Triangle campus.

  • EMCC Intercollegiate Rodeo moves to Lauderdale Agri-Center

    More than 200 college cowboys and cowgirls will compete Feb. 23-25 at the Lauderdale County Agri-Center during a National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association event hosted by the East Mississippi Community College Rodeo Team. Gates open nightly at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door and $5 for students. Admission is free for children age 5 and younger.

  • Veterans' memorial erected at Sullivan-Windham Field

    A memorial tribute to military veterans stands sentinel at EMCC's Sullivan-Windham Field, thanks to a local business, EMCC employees and students in the college’s welding program. It features steel medallions representing the branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and the U.S. Coast Guard. Service members held as prisoners of war or missing in action are also honored.
