  • You're invited: EMCC Alumni & Friends Night in Meridian

    East Mississippi Community College invites the public to an “Alumni & Friends Night” on Thursday, May 28. The event will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Kahlmus Auditorium on the campus of Mississippi State University-Meridian Campus. The evening will begin with an hour of visiting. Members of the EMCC team will give updates and take questions beginning at 6 p.m.

  • EMCC hosts 7th Annual Sporting Clays Challenge Cup

    East Mississippi Community College hosted its Sporting Clays Challenge Cup May 15 at Burnt Oak Lodge in Crawford. The presenting sponsor for this annual event, now in its seventh year, is Pryor and Morrow Architects & Engineers of Columbus. “We had a beautiful day for it,” said Nick Clark, EMCC vice president of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Affairs.

  • EMCC trustees name Dr. Thomas Huebner as next president

    The East Mississippi Community College Board of Trustees named Dr. Thomas Huebner as president of the college Monday night during a regular meeting. Currently serving as dean of student services at Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Huebner will succeed Dr. Rick Young, who retires June 30 after 11 years leading the college.

  • New Scooba recruiter sets sights on sharing EMCC's story

    There’s a new recruiter at East Mississippi Community College’s Scooba campus, and she’s setting her sights on the southern end of the college’s district – especially Lauderdale County. Leia Hill worked in the community college setting for more than eight years before joining EMCC and has experience in promotion, marketing and public relations for advertising agencies and private businesses.
