  • Columbus Wendy's hosts C2C graduation

    East Mississippi Community College’s Manufacturing Technology & Engineering division held a graduation ceremony for 13 young participants in its Counseling to Career program Nov. 21 at the Columbus Wendy’s on Highway 45.

  • Donated computer gives accounting student a big boost

    Christmas came early to Sarah Perkins this year. The single mother from Columbus is studying accounting at EMCC’s Golden Triangle campus, only with no computer at home and no money to buy one. But then, it all worked out -- with a little help from a Starkville businessman and EMCC's Computer Networking program.

  • EMCC hosts Community College Completion Week

    EMCC students committed this week to finishing their associate’s degrees or certificate programs during the Community College Completion Challenge, called C4. It was a part of a statewide program, with Phi Theta Kappa honor society chapters at each of the state’s 15 community colleges coordinating C4 events on their campuses.

  • EMCC Lions to play for another NJCAA football championship

    The EMCC Lions, NJCAA champions in 2011 and 2013, and the Iowa Western Reivers, NJCAA champions in 2012, will meet Dec. 7 in Biloxi at Mississippi Bowl VII for the 2014 NJCAA football championship. A brand-new, 36,000-square-foot Student Union welcomes fall students at the Scooba campus.
 The building includes the Commons, a large area
 for students to socialize or wait for their next
 class, as well as a cafeteria, grill, bookstore,
 convenience store, banquet and meeting rooms
 and a large outdoor patio area.
